Bail Bonds in Whitewater, KS

Bonding Company Whitewater

Wichita Bonding Co. has some of the best bondsmen in the industry working with us. Our office is at 700 N Market St in Wichita and we travel to Whitewater and anywhere in Butler County to post a bond. We are not here just to provide a service and make money. We actually care about the people who call us, usually on the worst night they have had in a long time.

Whitewater is a small town and its setup is genuinely different from a city like Wichita. There is no city police department and the municipal court meets four times a year. Both of those facts matter enormously if someone you love has been arrested.

We make it easy for you. Let us handle the court and paperwork so you don’t have to.

Open 24/7. We’ll even come and pick you up in Whitewater if you need us to.

Call (316) 833-8506 and talk to someone now.

How Do Bail Bonds Work?

A bail bond is a service fee for putting up bail money to a court in order to allow you to get out of jail until your court date. The court will set a bail amount for you, if it is more than you can afford and you don’t want yourself or your loved one to remain in jail until that court date, then you need to talk to a bail bonds company who will put the money up on your behalf.

About

What Happens If I Am An Indemnitor (Co-Signer) For A Bail Bond?

Co-signing for a bail bond means you are taking legal responsibility for the full amount of the bail bond. So if the court said the bail bond was $10,000, and the bail bondsman is asking you to pay $1,000 to them as their service fee, and the person skips out and runs from the appointed court date, the bondsman will come after you to get the money they put up to the court, which means you owe the full $10,000.

Whitewater has no police department of its own

The City of Whitewater does not run a police department. It contracts with the Butler County Sheriff’s Office, so the deputies who patrol Whitewater are county deputies, and an arrest in Whitewater is a Butler County Sheriff’s arrest from the start.

That means your person is taken to the Butler County Adult Detention Facility at 701 S Stone Rd in El Dorado. There is no local holding facility and no city jail. The jail reception line is (316) 322-4160, and the Sheriff’s Office administration is at 141 S Gordy in El Dorado, (316) 322-4254.

Butler County has no online inmate search

Sedgwick County publishes a free inmate search that anyone can use from a phone at any hour. Butler County does not.

What exists instead is a set of dated PDF rosters posted on the Sheriff’s website, and they do not go up daily. Recent postings were several days apart, with only about six dates staying live at a time. Someone booked last night may appear on no published list at all.

In a town the size of Whitewater, with no local police station to walk into, that leaves the phone. We make those calls every day and it costs you nothing to ask.

Whitewater Municipal Court meets four times a year

This is the single most important thing on this page. Whitewater Municipal Court does not sit weekly or even monthly. It meets quarterly.

The published 2026 dates were April 21 at 11:00 a.m., June 23 at 11:00 a.m., September 15 at 11:00 a.m. and December 15 at 11:00 a.m. Court is held at City Hall, 201 S Elm St, Whitewater, KS 67154, and the city line is (316) 799-2445. City Hall is open Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Think about what that means. If a city charge lands in the wrong week, the next municipal court date could be two or three months out. Nobody sits in a cell that long waiting on a municipal docket, which is exactly why bond exists and why it matters more here than almost anywhere else we serve.

Whitewater Municipal Court or Butler County District Court

Whitewater Municipal Court handles violations of Whitewater city ordinances committed inside city limits, mostly traffic and lower level offenses charged under city code. There is no jury. A judge decides the case.

Butler County District Court handles anything charged under Kansas state law, which means every felony and the state misdemeanors. That court is at 201 W Pine, Suite 101, El Dorado, KS 67042, phone (316) 322-4370, and it runs on a normal court calendar rather than a quarterly one. Butler County is part of the 13th Judicial District along with Elk and Greenwood counties.

Since Whitewater is policed by the Sheriff rather than a city department, more cases here start as state charges in district court than you might expect in a town this size. Which court has your person’s case is the first thing to establish, and we can find that out for you.

Getting mail to someone in the Butler County jail

Personal mail for a Butler County inmate does not go to the jail in El Dorado. It goes to a scanning service in Texas: Inmate Name, Butler County Detention Facility, PO Box 591, Longview, TX 75606. The letter is scanned, delivered electronically to a kiosk in the inmate’s cell, and the physical letter is destroyed and never returned. Five pages maximum, one photo per mailing, front side only, with the inmate’s name and booking number on it.

Legal mail is the exception. As of June 18, 2026, legal mail goes directly to Butler County Detention Center, 701 S Stone Rd, El Dorado, KS 67042. Sending legal mail to Texas is a mistake that can hurt a case.
